Why I Created Madelyn Victoria

This is a happy, happy day, and I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am!

It’s launch day for my new blog, Madelyn Victoria!

I have been working on this new site for months now, perfecting MadelynVictoriaBlog.com’s design, resolving tech issues, and editing old blog posts and transferring them here.

It’s been a long {and I do mean long} road, but it’s been worth every late night, freak out moment, and numb backside incidents {when I get in my “zone,” I don’t move an inch from my seat in front of my laptop unless someone is dying on the ground in front of me or there’s coffee involved}.

Why I switched from my old platform

If you go way back with me and have been a regular reader, you know I haven’t always been on MadelynVictoriaBlog.com. I had a totally different blog {on a totally different platform}.

I’m sure the switch from my old blog, These Moments, to MVB was quite a surprise for some of youit kinda was for me too.

I won’t give all of the hairy details, but basically, during summer 2017, I realized if I wanted to create a better websitea better blogthen I couldn’t stay with These Moments. While I didn’t know it when I initially made my old blog, there were many limitations as to what I could do from design to technical stuff to even promoting my blog.

So, I started praying and researching for hours on end about what to do. My life kinda revolved around figuring out how to make a better blog.

I talked to a number of people and went from discouragement to excitement more times than I ever thought possible.

Then, God worked in a way only He could, and something clicked inside my head.

I can’t explain how it happened, except by saying it was a whole lotta research and a lot more God.

That’s when MadelynVictoriaBlog.com was “born.” {Weird verb, I get that, but I legitimately feel like this blog is my kid. And yes, I also totally get that previous sentence was weird. If you haven’t gathered by now, I am weird.}

Creating Madelyn Victoria

Screenshot of Madelyn Victoria BlogIn the beginning of creating Madelyn Victoria, I knew several things:

  1. My new blog had to be specifically geared toward you, my readers. I wanted content to be extremely easy to find {hence the categories on the menu at the top}, you to easily be able to connect with me on social media {refer to the social media icons placed somewhat strategically throughout the site}, and you to be able to share posts at the click of a button {y’know, in case a post resonates and you want to spread the word. Look for the sharing buttons at the beginning and end of each post}.
  2. This blog’s purpose is to inspire and introduce new ideas, create community, and encourage you to live your best life.
  3. God is in control of the blog. Period. I’m a major control freak, and I knew if I wanted this blog to work then I had to give it to God {I’ll admit, I did it through clenched teeth at first.}. He is the most important thing in my life, and instead of my blog taking focus away from God, it should point straight to Him {for me and for my readers}.

Those are the three things I have kept in mind throughout this whole process, and I really hope Madelyn Victoria shows that.
